What is Embodiment?
“Embodiment is the state of energetically merging the mind (conscious), body (physical person), and spirit (the subconscious) from a frequency of pure love and acceptance.”
-Ashley Easter
Abuse survivors often suffer from a disconnect between body, mind, and spirit resulting in the body dissociating (understandably) during trauma. This dissociation was developed as a protection because the survivor’s body knew it could not safely process the fullness of the trauma all at once. This is not something to be judgemental about but to give empathy and understanding to.
Because of this disembodiment, much of a survivor’s journey to healing includes coming back to themselves. Gently merging the mind, body, and spirit in a “wholly” trinity of love, safety, and self-acceptance.
Tips for reuniting the body, mind, and spirit together may include:
Meditation Practices
Dance
Daily Affirmations
High Vibe Music
Art
Therapy
And, sometimes doctor prescribed medications
Be gentle with yourself and know that healing is possible.
